This large Male Sheephead can live to 50 years of age and grow as long as 3 feet. He searches his territory for intruders and dominates his environment by using his intense grill to pry hard shelled animals from rocks, powerful jaws to crush and modified throat bone to grind prey. Since this species is on the decline it has become a true feat to catch one of these large males. Think of the mad sheep as not being angry but a little crazy.
